My friend sent me the link. I'll put it here considering I'm stealing most of their pictures. But they're so cute!

"Of Spirits and Demons" Tidbits 2

So, continuing on.
I really should be reading my homework. Heheh.
So, I said before that I write "Lullaby of Awakening" before Briena and her story even existed in my mind. So I re-wrote a lot of it to fit Briena's world. And then I had to find a way to include the legend in Briena's story. I could have put the legend at the beginning of the story, but I didn't want it that way. So... I sort of alternated chapters during a mall hunk near the beginning of the story. I wonder if it'll be too confusing?
Next.
I was wondering how the people in that planet would "teleport." Because the mages can, for the most part, warp from one place to another. So, most normal people would have to travel the normal way-by foot or riding a horse, ex. But if they're in a hurry, how would normal people "warp" if they don't have a mage take them? After a while, I thought of warp cloaks. don't remember why my mind landed on that.
Oh, by the way, the last line of the first chapter is a lie. It says that that's the last time Briena sees her parents. I wanted to say that cause it sounded dramatic. "The last time she EVER saw them" would sound better, but that sounds more definite. There is going to be a whole book dedicated to Briena and her eventual reunion with her parents.
Oh yeah! Briena's wand! A long time ago, I made my own wand. I was trying to follow the Harry Potter style. So I needed something to go i the core, right? So when I went horse back riding (before my teacher retired) I got some hairs from my favorite horse's mane. The next problem: how do you get a horse hair into the core of a stick? So, I filed my wand nicely till it was smooth then I wrapped the horse hair in a wide spiral all the way up the wand. I used the melted wax from a scented candle to "glue" the hair in place and I slowly covered the hair with a even spiral of the wax. I suppose I could put a picture of my wand on the blog. I dunno.
So Briena's wand is based off my own.

Nayru

Oh yeah! I did another of these today! Nayru! I think maybe I finished this one a little faster than Dins.

Ghibli Theme Park (updated)

So, I felt that I should really mention something about this. It was a long time ago that I posted our "plans" for the so-called Ultimate Ghibli Theme Park. Since then I have learned that Miyazaki and the crew that works there don't like that kind of stuff. They don't want people to be so commercially oriented. And really, I think they're right. I am slightly corrupted by the fact that I think a Ghibli theme park would be awesome, but I can also completely understand why they don't want to have one. Kids are so obsessed with thrill rides and video games and TV and stuff. Miyazaki and co want kids to watch their movies and be inspired to go and play outside. Again, I completely agree.
So I shall edit my theme park by making it a big outdoor park where kids can get out and just play!

"Of Spirits and Demons" Tidbits

So, I decided to get my butt in gear and finally start putting up my crazy "tidbits"
I'll go in order.
FIrst of all, I think I mentioned this one already.
The beginning of the story I completely remodeled. And in doing so, much of Briena's families "status." I don't mean like how rich they are, but who's where and everything.
I don't think I'll mention how the story used to start. It was pretty pathetic. I had just read another book and I decided to mimic it's beginning. Anyway, It's all gone now. Replaced by better stuff.
So, now to speak about what's actually written. First of all, the plants.
Bleeding hearts are very cool flowers. I think I put some pictures of the up, didn't I?
And Acacia trees. The ones with the fluffy yellow flowers. I think they make a lot of people sneeze, but they're very pretty.
And garden spiders. We get them in our yard certain times of the year. Usually I like them. They make their webs in the bushes and catch bugs. I used to feed them if I caught a yellow jacket on our lawn (before that I would catch less dangerous things, but after a while I realized that yellow jackets would be a better sacrifice. Sometimes they'd get away. Sometimes they'd fight the spider till the spider wrapped them up. The only time I have problems with them... is when they build their webs across the walkway.
OK, that's a couple things down . I shall get to the rest of my long list eventually.

Full Metal Alchemist

ANYWAY, I finished Full Metal Alchemist today!
A word to the wise, if you're watching the series and you think the last episode leaves several things hanging, well, it does. You gotta watch the movie cause that ties up the loose ends.
(This paragraph contains minor SPOILERS-the next paragraphs won't) So, I still wasn't entirely satisfied with the outcome though . I wanted Ed and Al to go back to their world! They had to leave all their old friends behind! Waah! But at least they ended up together. And jeez, now they gotta survive World War II?

OK, SPOILERS ended.
So yeah . It was a good series, though not for the faint of heart cause it can be a bit bloody. Anyway, as usual, I really like the characters. Alchemy is cool. PArts of it were funny too, like Hawkeye's dog. And Ed hating being called short.
So, I approve. I watched in in Japanese, FYI. Though the only site where I could watch them all with english subtitles, the quality wasn't great and I had to wait for them to load.
SOO yeah. Good. Now I must progress to watching the next Anime on the list Ellen and Nicole gave me. I'll probably watch Fruits Basket next. Nicole told me to now that I've finished the manga (I need to read some of teh Full MEtal ALchemist manga too-I've read the first 2 volumes).
Curses to Ellen and Nicole for their anime-ness! (I hope they end up reading this though they probably won't)

Blaaa

So, recently I've been getting some annoying spammy comments on my blog. I deleted most of them because they were... pointless and weird. Anyway, as much as I hate it, I'm going to put up that stupid word verifier for commenting. I'll take it down at some point and see if the spammy stuff stops.
Anyway, spam sucks. If anyone reading this is responsible, I shall set my dragon on you!

Play With Me!

So, Shalia wants to play. Zuben's trying to nap. It's hard to see because he has such dark colors, but he's kinda peeking at Shalia.
I was too lazy to do a background.

Din

OK, so much of last night was spent in another experiment of computer art. My eyes were killing me after. So, a while I drew this. Din. She's the Oracle of Seasons from one of the Zelda games. I got this picture from the manga.

I decided I'd try coloring it on the computer. It took a very long time. Even though I darkened the lines, the computer still didn't read all of them. And then I did the shading too.

And then I went on the net and searched for a background. I would have used one of my own pictures, but they're all on the other computer. So, I found one of Ordon Spring. Granted, Din has nothing to do with Ordon, but it was the best thing I could think of last night. It took a while to figure out how to get DIn onto the background too.

So I found myself last night tired but pleased. I like the way it turned out!

Maps

OK, so if you want to create your own world, here's some info about making maps. First of all, yes, those 2 pages are indeed copied from my textbook. Now, moving on.
OK, one mistake that most people forget. Deserts. Most deserts occur behind a mountain range. For example, the Nevada Desert has the Sierra mountains between it and the ocean. And that huge desert in Africa? You can thank Mount Everest and its comrades for that. The theory goes that as the clouds move in from the ocean, they reach the foothills of the mountains. As they slowly rise over the mountains, they lose all of their water. By the time they clear the highest part of the mountain range, there is nothing but dryness left. And then you get the desert, in the "rain shadow" of the mountain.
And then you get different habitats in different latitudes. It has a lot to do with the wind currents and ocean currents. Observe.

These I though were useful . The first one shows what sorts of habitats are where in the world. The second one shows how the habitats progress as you move across America.

On a side note, as awesome as Avatar is, such big creatures don't live in the jungle. The big rhino creatures and that panther guy? They're too big to easily travel the jungle. There are elephants that live in the jungle, but they're smallish elephants and they make paths to follow and they live in very small groups.
Anyway, Avatar creatures are awesome. They just don't follow earth guidelines.
Oh, and the alien guys from that movie, the Na'vi? How come they don't have six legs like the other creatures on the planet? And why don't they breathe through their chests like the horse creatures? They're great, but they look a little too human. They should have given them different feet at the least, or something. Whatever. Just commenting.

Hobbes and Calvin (Just to switch it up)

So, I been sort of neglecting my blog, so here's Calvin and Hobbes. Some of my favorite. I think that some of these are his earlier ones.
