Location of the Mage Temple

OK, I found one of the pictures. I don't know where the others are. There were some that showed the whole valley and the mountains around the site. This is the location I picked out for the Mage Temple. It's between Castle Peak and the main road. You can see it when you're driving past. Me and Dad tried to drive up to the hill, but it was private property. Honestly, no one can own the Sierra Nevadas. They certainly don't on Magic-Earth. Oh, and FYI, the Mage Temple is in an alternate dimension. The hill is a bit different-bigger and grassier. Not just granite.

Bla-di-bla and more tidbits

Sooo my laptop doesn't seem to be working right now and I have some of my pictures saved on it. I'll try to salvage some of them so that I can show you a photo of where the mage temple is supposed to be situated on the alternate-Earth.
Until then, I'll talk about some other tid-bitty things. Tidbits. That makes me think of a scrap of meat I'd feed to a dog or something... why did I pick that word? Why do I keep bringing this topic up?
Angeles. She is obsessed with Harry Potter. I told her I'd put her in my story since it's probably the closest she'll ever get to Harry Potter. I don't think she's read more than the 1st chapter, so she never got far enough to see herself come in. Sigh. What a surprise.
Remember my old, broken story, "Dragons of Element?" Well, I have been slowly salvaging some of the better ideas from it. The Nazuth and Shaydens were originally from that story. But the Shaydens were called "Night Shadows." Hmm. Random name...
Oh! Shadow Swift! I originally created him years ago! Back when I was still riding at that one place over the summer... I was going to write a whole story about a girl (on our planet) who finds a horse that can disappear except for the shadow. And you can see him if you're holding a piece of gold (I don't know where that came from). And one of the scenes was she was riding a horse and suddenly she hears galloping hoofbeats approaching. They're practically right on top of her, but she doesn't see anything and then the hoofbeats fade away again. The horse panics a bit too.
Chakashi, Tlaloc, and Poppy. Three horses that Briena and her friends use. I created the designs for these horses a long time ago too. Tlaloc is the Aztec rain god. Chakashi means something too... But I can't find it in my notes anywhere. Let me look again. Haha! Found it! Chakashi is supposedly a Shoshone wind spirit. And Poppy is a gray horse that I once saw where I went riding. I never really got to meet her though. Just saw her and remember the name. She was leaping about and kicking up her heels in the corral.
Ah, that trail where Briena and her friends go riding... I've been backpacking up in the Sierra Nevadas. It was indeed beautiful, but I much rather would have ridden a horse cause the pack is heavy and the trail is long... Being up there was fun but the hike was pretty grueling.

Goshu

So, an older Ghibli movie that is hard to find. But it's really good, especially for musicians.
Gauche the cellist the cellist (though his name is actually Goshu...)
Anyway, it's about Goshu, a cellist. Can you tell? He's in a professional band, but he's sort of the worst player in the band. Over the course of the movie, he slowly learns more about music from a series of strange visitors. At first he is very mean to these "teachers" but his attitude improves along with his playing. It's a great movie.

Warehouse 13

On a completely random note I watched Jumanji a little while ago. I keep forgetting how good it is! It's funny too!

OOOKKK so getting to the title of the post. I saw part of a series on the scifi channel called Warehouse 13. I tried to rent it from the library because it was really good. I never even watch TV either, but one day they were running a marathon and I watched through several episodes (1 hr each). I've never seen the beginning though. Just the last half. I wanna see it! You should too!
It's about this strange warehouse that collects these artifacts with strange powers. Since I haven't seen the beginning, I can't really say where they come from. But these 2 agents have to track them down. There's different things like Lewis Carroll's Mirror (as in Alice in WOnderland, or something) and Edgar Allen Poe's pen and notebok (that guy freaks me out) and lots of other cool stuff Anyway, it's cool.

ashitte ii na kakechao!

So, the title of this post is part of the lyrics of the Ponyo song where it says how great it is to have feet.
"I want hands! I want feet!"
So, that theme has been coming up a lot recently. The theme of feet.
Avatar. Jake's legs are paralyzed. When he first enters his Avatar, he ignores his instructions and goes running around. At first I didn't know why the heck he was acting that way, but then I realized that it was because he was so happy just to be able to walk and run!
Full Metal Alchemist. Edward only has one real leg. The other is mechanical. He and Al go through hell and back (almost literally) to get Al's body and Ed's arm and leg. They... sort of succeed.
Last week at the humans society, there were 3 cats (still kittens, I suppose) that were really sweet. I think they were siblings. They all had long fur. 2 girls-one gray, the other black with a perfect gray lions mane. The boy was black. As I was petting them, he flopped on his side and I noticed that the bottom half of his hind leg was missing. He tried to scratch with that foot, but there was nothing there. And he walked almost as though he expected something to hold his weight. I was reminded of Ed and I started thinking about all these feet things. But the kittens were so sweet!
The thing that really got me was that the people at the humane society didn't even realize that half of his back foot was missing! When I asked what had happened to him, the vet seemed really surprised.
The girls were adopted, but the boy was still there today. They were so sweet! I want to take him home and name him Edward! I want another cat...

Dawn and Night

OK, so Kimi's 2 little goats. I forget if I've written about them yet, so I'll reiterate.
At one point, I had 2 goat like Kimi's. Now I only have 1. The other vanished somewhere years and years ago. It was so long ago that I don't remember what color he was. Dad says it was blue, but I'm convinced it was red. Anyway, here's a picture of the one I still have. Night.
It's kinda a bad picture. Sorry.

"Of Spirits and Demons" Tidbits 3

So, yeah. I got this big long list of "tidbits" (why did I choose that word? It's so weird!) that I want to write about.
I want to get some of them out of the way.
Mist. The first time Bree arrives at the Mage Temple, a thick mist is covering everything. It doesn't have any symbolism or anything. Mist is just really awesome.
And the school session starts in the winter. Winter usually goes with thoughts of ending things-the end of the year, ex. So I turned it around. WInter is the beginning of Briena's learning magic. (Also, school years start in the fall, so she started just a tad later than that-nearer the end of fall).
So, the mage temple. Since mages an wizards and everything are sort of the government that runs Magic-Earth, they get really good funding for their schools. That's why the dorm rooms are so nice. And that's also why the kids get all their textbooks provided for them. I wish things were like that now... so we don't have to buy these freakin' expensive textbooks.
And I think I've mentioned before about the flowering trees. Cherry blossoms and plum blossoms, ex. Those trees are so pretty when they're in full bloom.
So, in addition to magic lessons, the students also get lessons in self-defense and stuff. Not only is it important to know in case a magician runs into trouble, but it also keeps the students fit. Plus some of that stuff is fun to learn.
Fares. He really doesn't show up until the end of the story, but you hear about him. Dad used to work with eagles at the zoo. I've said that before too. And eagles are cool. Especially big eagles like Lord of the Rings and The Rescuers Down Under. Fares is a dragon eagle-a huge eagle.
I'll mention one last thing. In "Lullaby of Awakening" I added just a few more details during Brenor's travels. I added a few details of what is the parallel of Yosemite Valley. Honestly, I wanted to keep the Lullaby legend short... but I was talked into adding just a few more details. I don't know if I"ll end up making it longer or not.

Birch and Clover

OK, Remember my seven animal guys? Well, here's Clover and Birch (rabbit and dog). Clover's very neat and tidy about digging holes, but Birch is just flinging dirt everywhere, including on Clover and her hole. Watch where you're going!
People going around doing things not realizing that they're causing trouble for others.
I saw part of a movie on TV like that but I don't know what it was.

Midna Person

I drew this a while ago and forgot to put it up. It's some... Midna-ish person. Or a person wearing a Midna outfit.
Her leg sort of disappeared. Oops.

Sekaar, Chandra and Surya

OK, so this took a long time to color. This is Sekaar, from my story, Under the Masks. He's a scholar and he LOVES to discover new, strange creatures on the largely unexplored continent of Kriayshun. He's sketching one now.
Chandra and Surya are the two Spiny Dragons that are his buddies. They're those scaley snakey wingey things that are next to him.

Teachers at the Mage Temple

So, More tidbits for Of Spirits and Demons. I got lots of them.
The teachers.
Actually, I've had a lot of good teachers. I wanted to try to use some of them in my story, but there's only about 5 teachers at the temple! And there were so many teachers I could have used! I"ll have to find spots for some of them elsewhere though. Most of the teachers are based off one specific person. I really kinda hope that they don't read it and find out though cause I'd probably be embarrassed. So, I won't say who they are. I changed 2 of their names recently so it wouldn't be too similar. Darien's name changed a long time ago too.
I tried to convey the teachers through my story, but as I've mentioned, it can be hard to write for a real person.
Sooo... I sort of lost what I was trying to say here. Anyway, There ya go. Teachers. They can be very cool. I've really only had one teacher that I didn't like that much (Even he wasn't really bad) and that teacher is in the story a bit too. Another strange teacher that I didn't dislike, but who was a bit odd, she's in there too (honestly, both of those 2 have had their names changed and I can't remember what I changed them too, which is why I'm not telling you their names-I don't remember their new names!).
Yah, It's hard to change the names of characters. I remember their old names... I better go and look the new names up.

Happy!

You know, I really love fanfiction. Not only does it let you use other awesome characters and plots, but you get so many comments! People say really nice things. And my total of comments is officially over 300 (mainly for Midna and Pokemon) But I still get excited every time I get a new one.I'm still excited that people like my Pokemon one so much. Last night I got a message from someone saying that they loved my writing and wanting to know if I was going to do another Pokemon fanfic after I finish the one I'm doing.
It makes me feel so happy! It's hard to describe how nice it makes me feel, but
>^-^<
You know?

Stufffff

Ah, I been neglecting my blog again. But I have been sick, so I sort of have an excuse.
So, last night was our band concert. It went really well, so all of us got energized.
I also got my copy of Ponyo on DVD last night. Heheh.
And yesterday me and a friend from band (the one I was gonna write the cave story with though she still hasn't read the chapter I sent her) went to a rally. I don't think I've ever been to a rally before. It was a protest against all the horrid budget cuts our schools are receiving. Have I raved about that yet? It seems like I did. Anyway, the last speaker was a student. He was a passionate speaker. It was fascinating to listen to him. Now I understand that ancient art of rhetoric a bit better. He burnt a copy of his transcripts too. Heheh.
