White Kitten

So, yesterday at the humane society, there was a white kitten. Did you know that white cats with blue eyes are often deaf? (Also, most orange cats are boys, and all tortoise shell cats are girls). Anyway, this little kitten was deaf. But she was the most adorable thing in existence. And she was really sweet too. Most kittens will pay attention to you mainly if you have a toy to play with. But this little gal would climb on your lap and curl up and purr constantly, even as she slept. And she was a soft as cotton. She was adopted almost immediately after I took her out.
Oh, last year there was another kitten who was really friendly too. Even smaller than this girl. And he climbed up the front of my shirt. Usually when kittens do this, they accidentally get you with their claws. But he didn't. He was very careful. And then he curled up on my shoulder. Awwwwww!!!
So, here's the girl from yesterday. She blended in with the towel so well that I went to take a picture of her. And then she looked up, and it was perfect!!

Fanfic Update

So, I thought I should mention fanfiction since I just finished my Shadow Link fanfiction on saturday, and I finished the second part of my Pokémon fanfic 2 weeks ago.
I'm gonna start my next Pokémon fanfic this weekend. I think I'm gonna go back and fix up my Midna fanfic too because I'm not happy with the boss battles.

And then just because Calvin has good environment views and I felt like it.
Dude, I really am gonna get sued some day for having these on my blog. I've got a ton of pictures up that I don't have permission for. Oh well. I'll take them down if anyone asks. But since only about 4 people read the blog, that probably won't happen for a verry long time.
Is it weird that I want to read through the entire blog and fix up some of the posts?

Haku Plushie!

I don't believe it! I completely neglected to mention the Haku plushie I spent forever making! And I finished him almost an entire month ago! (The morning after my birthday, as a matter of fact). And I posted him pretty much everywhere else too, like deviantart and facebook.
Poor Haku! Forgive me!

And then just because they're cute and they deserve it:

(As a matter of fact, you have 7 partners in Okamiden, including Issun for a short while, but these are the main ones. Kurow's my favorite though.)

Okamiden

So, I finished playing Okamiden last night.
It was a fun game. Not quite as complicated as the first one in terms of stuff to do, and there weren't really any side quests. But Chibi's partners were cool. Kurow is probably my favorite. He is kinda like Waka, except sweeter and cuter. I sort of miss the French though. They do have... similar origins. And of course, he plays the flute, and his flute turns into a lightsaber. Awesome!
I wish Ammy and Waka would have shown up in more than just name and picture. Oki's cool too.
It was kind of annoying that when the game ended, you had to start a new game. There was no way to go back and try to do anything you missed (not that there was too much to miss).
The ending was a bit ambiguous. I wonder if they're setting you up for a third one?
But the part after you beat Akuro is so sad. Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! TT^TT
Why? WHY? No! Don't go! You can't do that to him!
Sob.

Too Much Water...?

So, apparently there's a lot of water in our reservoir this year. So you know what that means? That's right. If you're not using enough water, THEY'RE GOING TO CHARGE YOU MORE. What the hell is with that? Why would they charge you more for preserving water? That's one of the most messed up things I've heard of! Seriously, if there's too much water, send it to the people who are dying from water-borne diseases in other countries. It's not like the government can't afford it. They give subsidies to all the people who don't deserve them. But they can't give water to people who are dying.
Freaking stupid country.

Strawberries!

So, for my sustainable agriculture class, we've been going on several field trips. I don't mind these field trips as much as others because they're on the day of class, not on Saturday. They're pretty fun too. We go to different farms in the area and the farmers talk to us about what makes their practices sustainable. Some of it's pretty interesting. We went to another farm today. The guy we talked to spoke Spanish, so the teacher translated for us. I could recognize a little of what he said. I really should go over my Spanish notes so I don't forget everything (Nicole). I wanna learn Japanese too.
Annywayy, back on topic. He gave us each a basket and let us pick strawberries. And I went "yessssssss!" He's the first one that let us eat some of his stuff. ^-^ I like picking food. U-pick berry places are fun too. And they're so delicious! Everyone should go out and pick some of their own food at least once. People need to reestablish a connection with where their food comes from. It doesn't just come from the grocery store.

(In response to Ellen's comment)
Yeah, I like Robert Frost. I just meant in my last post that it must be much easier to write about something if you've been there in the heart of it and experienced it. Besides, it's really fun to do new things and learn new stuff!
I refuse to let anyone reading this blog turn into a desk cow! (I don't even know what that means, but I apologize to the cows). Go out and do stuff and have fun! Don't be too paranoid!

Oh, man. The few strawberries I have left are on a bowl on my dresser. They smell sooooooo good!

Crazy Author Movies

So, we just watched a movie called Nim's Island. It was kinda stupid (illogically so). But it had an author as one of the main characters. She was really freaked out about everything. She never left her house, and she had the delivery guy leave everything on her front porch, and she only ate canned soup, and she drenched herself in hand sanitizer. And she wrote adventure books. I guess you never can tell with authors. But I certainly like to get out and do stuff. Can you really write adventure stories if you never leave your house?
There was another movie about an author that I watched a few years ago. It was interesting. I think it was called "Stranger than Fiction." It was about this writer writing a book about this random guy who was unknowingly following a path that would lead to his death. Except she doesn't know that the guy she's writing about is real, and everything she writes happens to him. And he can also hear her narrative, so when she writes that he's about to die, he freaks out and starts trying to find this author to get her to not kill him.

Geese

So, I'm gonna start with the bad thing and end with the good thing, so hopefully you'll be in a good mood when you leave, instead of a bad mood.
So, as is usual for Fridays, I was at the humane society to volunteer today. And one of the other volunteers told us something. There's this guy on youtube who makes videos about wild animals. Except all of the advice he gives is wrong. It's advice that's going to KILL the animals! Stuff like, "if you find a naked baby bird, soak it in warm water for 2 days to keep its skin from drying out. If it dies, that means it was too sick for you to save."
WHAT THE F#$%@!%#@&#@ Hell!!!!!!!! Soaking baby birds in water? That's a good way to drown them! Do you see mamma birds filling their nests with water? Well DUH! Birds don't live in water! And this guy has a following! Of a lot of people! He's the cause of murders of baby animals all over the F#@$%!#@ country!!! The girl told me she tried to argue with the guy over youtube, and said that she volunteered at an animal shelter. But he said that wildlife centers only kill animals. I wanted to ask her the guy's account so I could tell him what an absolute idiotic murdering lunatic he was. But I knew he wouldn't listen, and I didn't want to fly into a rage against someone like that. The guy was obviously a total nutcase, and those guys can't be reasoned with. Even if their argument hasn't an ounce of evidence behind it, they'll stick with it. I hope his "pet" raccoon bites his nose off. They will do that if you're not careful. Raccoons are wild animals.
Instead we should focus on educating people on what REALLY to do with baby animals.
First, try to find their nest or their parents. Their families are usually nearby, and they're often still feeding the baby. Most animals don't need to be brought into a shelter. They should to be raised by their real parents. Bring them into a shelter if you know their family can't be found. Don't raise them yourself. That's a good way to kill the animal. Wild babies have very specific needs, and wild animals are not pets. Even ones habituated to humans have strong survival instincts that might lose you a finger or ear. And animals without a fear of humans can be very dangerous to people.

Okay. Trying to calm down.
Today there were a couple baby owls. A barn owl and a screech owl.
Barn owls always seem like they have anger issues. They're little white puff balls, but the moment they see you, they hunker down and start hissing like a wildcat. It's pretty funny.
Baby screech owls are much different. They're really tiny and quiet and adorable. I got to feed him. ^-^ CUUUTTTEEEE!!!!
And there was also a goose from the exotics department. Teresa told me he was friendly to some people, so I went in to see him. He let me scratch his back and chest, and he'd dunk his head in the water as I was petting him (is that goose language for something?). But when one of the women who worked for exotics came by, she said that the goose always charged her and bit at her legs. I've never been bitten by a goose, but it sounds really painful, because they twist their beaks. The other volunteer (who told me about the lunatic on youtube) wanted to try to pet him, so she came into the enclosure. And the Goose lowered his head and went at her shins. I grabbed him before he could get her. Then Jane came in. And he did the same thing to her. Then we got Patrick to come out (he used to work here, then he left, and now he's back because Rachel's on leave - she just had a baby!) Apparently the goose was nice to him. So, Patrick came in, and the goose walked up to him with his neck stretched up in a friendly way. So, Patrick was petting him too, and he seemed fine. Then when Patrick wasn't paying attention, the goose bit him on the arm.
It bruised right away.
Poor Patrick!
That's so strange though. He really liked me coming in and petting him. When I walked by the enclosure, he'd come up to the fence, honking.
I can just talk to animals that way, you know?

Cirque Du Soleil

I just realized that I never posted about Cirque du Soleil!
Mom and Dad took me 2 weeks ago on my birthday to see the Cirque du Doleil, Quidam. We got seats right near the front. It was AMAZING!
It was funny to watch them drag people from the audience onto the stage (Though they'd selected the people beforehand - they weren't ordinary random people. You couldn't really tell though).
You now... I don't even know what to write about it. I dunno where to start. It's probably something you gotta see.

You know, like

Yaay!!
I finally know what Ling's saying! Thanks Ellen! It would be hard to translate a song in an accent. Like the first closing song of Spice and Wolf. It's in english, but her accent is so strong that it sounds like a totally different language. But considering I only know about 50 words of Japanese, I certainly can't recognize an accent so I don't know how strong Ling's accent is. You have to admire actors who can give themselves accents. Amazing. Some accents are really cool. Irish, Australian, British, yeah. Accents are cool.

On a totally unrelated note.
You know what's annoying, even I do it all the time? Actually it doesn't really bug me when other people do it. It bugs me when I do it. When I use the word "like" in ways other than "I like this!"
You know, like when people use it in that way that I just used it!
It's weird. I'm not even consciously aware of using it. It's weird that that stuff comes out in your speech, like you can't control what you're saying.
The "likes" are invading our brains...
