One Jump onto Stage

I won a pair of tickets to see the Aladdin stage play, so I dragged a friend along. 

It was fun. The dances were quite fabulous. And the decorations, sets, and costumes were all super pretty. The magic carpet ride was awesome - you couldn't tell what kept them up in the air.

When Aladdin gets trapped in the cave, he's sitting alone in the dark and calls out, "hello? Is anyone out there? Hello!" 

And from out in the middle of the audience, a little girl called out, "Hello!"

Everyone burst out laughing. It was adorable and hilarious.

Getting the Science Right

I've often mentioned how great it is when movies and books are backed by thorough research. I recently watched the bonus features for the movie Contact. They did an incredible job with their accuracy. The data on the computer screens, even the procedures that an organization would go through under similar circumstances. No normal person would know that these little details are legit. But I bet people in the know love it.

They did mention that they made a mistake. Cracker jacks stopped putting little toys in the boxes long before the film was set. So they joked that those cracker jack boxes had been sitting in storage for years.

At one point I didn't realize that he was crawling over my keys while I had one of my stories open. I looked up and found my document with a bunch of extra gaps and stuff.

 Who knew a snake could write.
