I've been slowly listening through the Harry Potter audiobooks. It's been years since I last listened to them. And I'm realizing that Hogwarts is kinda messed up. (spoilers)
A teacher threatens to poison and kill a pet of one of the students. And also to poison a student. However much of a hero this person may be, he should NOT be teaching children.
Another teacher that forces students to slice open their own hands.
Extreme bullying, with nothing ever done about it.
(Plus there's not really any diversity)
Though Nicole pointed out that despite all of this, Hogwarts is still an upgrade from where Harry grew up. Which is definitely true. (Still, it's no wonder that Harry's son Albus kinda hates Hogwarts in The Cursed Child).
