Tyra

Sometimes when I talk about my stories, I mention my dragon Tyra.

And sometimes I get an interesting reaction from her name. They'll say "Oh, Tyra sounds like Tara!"

I definitely did not name Tyra after me.
The origin of her name is far more weird, so I thought I might as well talk about it.

For my Pokémon fanfiction, one of my characters was a Tyranitar named Tyra. Tyra, Tyranitar, Tyrannosaurus Rex, etc etc.
I liked the name, and Tyranitar is a similar color to Tyra the dragon. So I just snatched the name from my fanfic.

It didn't occur to me at all that it sounded like my name.
Heh. Oops.
