If I ever end up talking to anyone about my writing, sometimes the difference between books and stories pops up. I always call my stuff stories. But for something like the 250 page long story I wrote with Ellen, I'll sometimes get a comment like "That's not a story! That's a book! A full-out novel!"
But I never call my stuff "books." To me, a book is a published work that you can hold in your hand and flip through and it has a nice shiny cover and is bound nicely and everything.
None of my works fit that. I just can't think of them as books.
But maybe some day... Sigh.
